I’ve been avoiding cleaning my house all morning (which is why I’m posting this) and it made me think of this video.

SPEAKING OF CLEANING
Being lazy today glued to my couch got me thinkin bout this video too. Damn these vids are bringing back memories. I rocked this album so hard during 6 grade.
Heres another track I bumped hella in 6 grade. Puba’s solo lp and Brand Nubian “One For All” were rocked so hard. We used to try so hard to dress as fresh as Puba, he was the blueprint of our fashion.
Bizarre Ride is one of my all time favorite LP’s ever! I remember it was right before this album was coming out and my brother had bought some tickets off one of the members of Pharcyde on the street in Philly. We ended up moving the day before the show and he never got to use them.
I also have a VHS of YO! MTV RAPS from that era and one of them is when FAB 5 Freddy went to their house in LA where they all lived together and it was crazy bombed wit graf. I’ve got to find that tonight when I go to Moms crib for sunday dinner!
K-Solo “Times up” was another LP that my brother and I bumbed alot. We bought it on a vacation at Ocean City, Jersey shore on some shop on the boardwalk and had to wait like 5 days till we got home to bump it. It drove us nuts… This was always my favorite song on the album and still is one of my favs of all time. This was the song that my brother pointed out to me the “impeach the president” drums and showed me how people were always using it. This is when I started noticing were samples were coming from. I went out and bought a huge Parliment/Funkadelic boxset a few months later to feed my sampling curiosity and funk hunger!
90′s memory lane will be continued….
BETTER START CLEANING!

“PEG” IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE STEELY DAN JOINTS EVER. I REMEMBER LOVING IT EVEN BACK WHEN SCOTT JOHNSTON USED IT IN HIS VIDEO PART FOR “LET THE HORNS BLOW” I THINK. THIS CLIP SUMS UP ALMOST ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT STEELY DAN WHICH IS BASICALLY DONALD FAGEN AND WALTER BECKER PLAYING ALONG SIDE WHICH EVER MASTER MUSICIANS THAT THEY HAPPENED TO BE USING IN THAT PARTICULAR SESSION.
NEW JACKS TAKE NOTICE…
